As seen in the Winter 2010 issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry Magazine, Shari will share her metal shadowbox technique to create soldered vintage assemblages. In this workshop we will be fabricating metal shadow boxes.Once constructed, these 3 dimensional windows will then be filled with layers and texture of beautiful tiny elements of the past. We will then use soldering techniques to frame our vintage assemblage creations.
Skill Level : All skill levels are welcome. We will be exploring the metal box construction, with basic and more advanced soldering techniques. We will also be diving into "fabric collage" with vintage fabrics and textiles.
A "Full Kit" is included, and will be provided for this fun workshop , with a variety of fun beautiful Victorian elements,laces,and vintage notions to select from Shari's own collection. You are also free to bring you own tiny vintage elements to add to your assemblage windows as well. Tools will be provided for use.
What to Bring with you:
If you have a set of basic jewelry pliers (round nose,flat,cutters etc.) please bring them with you to class. If not,there will be some available for student use.
